AAU Rules are the foundation of the Islandwide Roller Hockey League, with the following supplements and amendments.
Our organization has thought of many ways to control the game, in order to benefit the league for the future
Every player must wear league jersey at every game.   Players without their jersey will not be permitted to play.  JV players will be allowed to participate in 3 varsity games. If the JV player plays more then 3 games he/she has to stay on the varsity  team for the remaining of the season. A JV player will have to play at least 3 games to be eligible for varsity play-offs. JV Goalies are permitted to play for their Varsity team. Varsity players are not permitted to play for their JV teams. At the end of each game, the away team must leave the playing surface first, followed by the home team. Participants that live in the town of the high school team playing in our league, but attend a private school, will be eligible to try-out for that team. (only 2 players per team) Overtime will be 3 on 3 with running time for 3 minutes. Then the teams will go into a 3 man shoot-out. Each team will receive 1 point for going into overtime and the winner will receive 2 points. Timeouts will not be allowed in overtime. PENALTIES
Each participant is personally responsible to wear protective equipment for all games, warm-ups and practices. (if a player is caught without proper equipment they will be ejected from the game and the team will be assessed a 4 minute penalty)
Mouth guards must be worn during playing time.  Goalies do not have to wear mouth guards. (if a player is caught, the team will be assessed a 2 minute penalty)
Every player must cover their shin and elbow pads during game time. If a player is caught with visible equipment, they will be sent off  the rink by the referees and not allowed to return until such equipment has been covered. (if player is caught the team will be assessed a 2 minute penalty)
Only players in uniform are allowed to be on the playing surface during game time and warm-ups. (No Coaches) Unless the official has asked the coach to come on the surface for help. (if caught the team will be assessed a 2 minute penalty)
